Several Texas cities rank atop a list from the U.S. Census of the fastest growing populations in the country. The Vintage 2023 Population Estimates report surveyed population growth from July 2022-2023.
Texas claimed the top four spots on the list of fastest growing cities by percentage. Celina increased by 26.6% to lead the rankings. It was followed by Fulshear, Princeton, and Anna, while Georgetown, Prosper, Forney, and Kyle were also included among the top 15 on the list.
Meanwhile, seven Texas cities ranked in the top 15 cities with the largest numeric increase in population. San Antonio had the largest increase with nearly 22,000 new residents in the area. Fort Worth followed with more than 21,000 arriving in the city. Houston, Georgetown, Celina, Fulshear, and Denton made the list as well.
The report also assessed the largest numeric gains in housing units, where three Texas counties—Harris, Travis, and Collin—ranked among the top five in the country.
The most populous cities in the country remained the same as 2022, with Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, and Fort Worth in the top 10.
That’s 58 people per day into Fort Worth alone. I assure you that we’re not putting 58 homes on the market everyday in the city.
